I am not sure I want The Donald to run for President. I am happy with him asking the hard questions and once he announces that he is going to run that will all change.
Although I am not a ‘birther’ – that would be my charmingly off-balance sister – I do have a few questions that I would like answered by ANYONE who seeks the Presidency. Where did you go to school? What was your GPA? How did you pay for school? I think these are important questions for a candidate to have to answer. Each gives us insight into who they are.
Where did you go to school? Personally, I would give far more weight to any candidate that did NOT come out of the Ivy’s. We have had one President after another that has been molded by the Ivy League. What good has that done us?
What was your GPA? Were you an honest student who excelled in some subjects but struggled with others? Did you fall madly in love and spend one semester pining over an art student who denigrated daddy’s capitalistic tendencies while living on his credit cards? Perfection in ANYONE at this age is a silly expectation. Between 18 and 22 you are SUPPOSE to fall in love with someone who is completely inappropriate. You are SUPPOSE to question everything about the world and your place in it. You are SUPPOSE to make stupid mistakes and learn life’s big lessons from them.
How was your education paid for? Did daddy write a big check and make a promise fund a new wing? Did you work as a waiter, dishwasher, babysitter and college tour guide to help defer the costs of your education so you could graduate with as little debt as possible? Working hard to get what you want out of life is a quality that should be celebrated. Having parents who can write a large check to the college of your dreams is very nice, but what you do with that gift speaks volumes about who you are and what you value.
In short, we do not need a god or a rock star in the White House. We need a human being who has made mistakes – and learned from them. Who has worked hard for what he has. A leader who is not ashamed of capitalism or of this republic. We need someone in the White House who is proud of where they came from. Someone who is comfortable with who they are – flaws and all.
AND we need Donald Trump standing outside of the race asking to see the birth certificate, school records and passport. We need The Donald to keep up the pressure to ensure that we get the answers to the questions that will influence how we exercise our RIGHT to vote.
Trump: I’m Running as a Republican, Period
Billionaire Donald Trump has made it official: If he decides to run for president in 2012, he will do so as a Republican.
“If I run, I’m running as a Republican,” the real estate mogul told the Shark Tank political website.
Trump, who continues to lead several presidential polls, including an ongoing poll by Newsmax, dismissed the likelihood that he’d run as an independent, as that would split the Republican vote and all but guarantee President Barack Obama’s re-election.
That would “absolutely cause a loss for the Republicans — it would be an Obama dream,” he said.
Trump also said he was prepared to sink “tens of millions of dollars” from his own personal fortune into a presidential campaign.
